Bigger, better, different – Hypertrophy 2018 evolves and big changes are coming.
As you might notice, this announcement is written in English. That means in 2018 the participation for the Hypertrophy is no longer reserved for Austrian athletes – every athlete from every country can be a part of our great event.
And last but not least the Hypertrophy has a new date, which will stay the same at least for the next 3 years. Mark the weekend 6th to 8th of July 2018 in your calendars and tell your friends and workout buddies to do the same.
In 2018 we will change the way you qualify for the Hypertrophy. In the past, the Austrian Leaderboard from the CrossFit Open was the defining element for our starting field. From now on there will be an online qualifier, where you can secure your spot at our event. The Qualifier will start 1st of April 2018 and we will let you know all the necessary details soon.
Two years ago we started to move one Event of our Individuals Competition to an external spot to provide completely different, unexpected challenges for our athletes. We will continue to do that and this year’s outdoor task will be amazing.
Individual Events are great, but a Team competition shows CrossFit from a very different angle. Sweating and battling together is a thrilling experience and in 2018 we will provide a great stage for 10 teams to show their skills and their spirit.
More and longer live coverage
We try each year to strive forward with our live coverage from the event. We will improve our presentation model, not just focussing on a professional event schedule at the venue, but also bringing the more events on air for people to tune in from abroad.
